Woman hit by car

A woman in her 20s was airlifted to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle after she was hit by a car early Tuesday morning.

Investigators said the woman was crossing the road when she was hit about 5:15 a.m.

She was not in a marked crosswalk, Washington State Patrol Trooper Dan McDonald said.

Investigators said the woman was thrown or dragged more than 50 yards from where she was hit. Her purse was found another 200 feet down the road.

Troopers have blocked off Sate Route 515 near 224th Street while they collect evidence at the scene.

The driver left the scene but called 911, officials said.
